Samsung is continuing to develop on its Galaxy series of smartphones with the latest being the just announced Galaxy Pro, a direct hit at the BlackBerry and its market with a new candy-bar QWERTY form factor.

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Pro at Samsung SEA Forum held in Singapore. It will most likely sport an 800MHz CPU, 2.8-inch HVGA (480 x 320) capacitive landscape touchscreen display, three-megapixel camera (sans flash unfortunately), Wi-Fi b/g/n, and Bluetooth 3.0. The four-row QWERTY Android will be powered by Google's 2.2 Froyo version of the mobile platform — and TouchWiz on top — with hopefully plans to upgrade to Gingerbread. It's not the Droid-Pro like Samsung QWERTY we told you about wearing the Sprint branding but pretty close — give or take the landscape oriented screen. Expect to see more of this device soon at CTIA.
