1080p Samsung Windows Phone handset shows up in import logs

Samsung has not been showing a ton of enthusiasm for Windows Phone 8, and after launch of the ATIV S, all it managed to come out with in 2013 was the largely similar ATIV S Neo. All along, we’ve been wondering if the company would every try stepping up its WP game, but so far we haven’t been able to confirm work on any new models. Today we get a look at a model number that sure seems to be an upcoming WP8 phone, Samsung’s SM-W750V.

The number shows up in those Indian import records we love so much, showing a shipment of the SM-W750V coming into the country from South Korea for “testing & evaluation” purposes.

While that number has since been identified as belonging to a Windows Phone device, we kept poking around, and dug up the handset’s User Agent Profile over on Samsung’s site. The file there is relatively new, only created about a month back, and reveals model SM-W750V to have a 1920 x 1080 resolution.

We also get a screen size from the import listing, describing this one as a five-incher. With a little luck, Samsung just might be showing off the hardware at CES or MWC early next year.
