Samsung Pay adopters stateside yet again offered $20 eCertificate
As Samsung Pay spreads its wings in more and more countries worldwide, presumably growing in active users at an even faster rate than before, newcomers to the NFC and MST-enabled digital wallet service are understandably treated to weaker and weaker freebies.
Granted, the latest (US-only) reward for first-time Samsung Pay backers is slightly better than the previous one, which took shape as a $20 gift card across a number of retailers, including Toys R Us, Nike and Banana Republic.
Still, 20 free bucks good towards Samsung.com purchases don’t exactly compare very favorably to the gratis wireless chargers, wireless headphones or $200 eCertificates of yore. But hey, it’s something, and all you need to do to qualify is perform a Samsung Pay transaction by August 1 after obviously buying an “eligible” phone of late.
Those are the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S7 Active, Note 5, S6, S6 Edge, Edge+, and S6 Active stateside, with more models, including mid-rangers, set to be added to the list in the not-so-distant future. Oh, and if you happen to shop using Samsung Pay this Friday or the next, you might be in for an extra $10 voucher for American Eagle Outfitters, Best Buy, Domino’s, GameStop, Nike, P.F. Chang’s, or Regal Entertainment Group.
