Even with Galaxy Note 5’s number-skipping sequel unveiled a little earlier than initially anticipated, at a dedicated press gathering in New York City, we never really doubted Samsung still had something left up its sleeve for Berlin’s IFA trade show.

At least two somethings, apparently, both far less exciting and headline-grabbing than the first dual-edged S Pen phablet, one smaller, and one bigger. The Gear S3 and Galaxy Tab S3 are now essentially confirmed to break cover on September 1, i.e. the day before the official start of IFA 2016, with the actual European expo then accommodating real-life demos and previews.

Samsung’s looming non-Unpacked event will kick off at 11 am and wrap up around noon, local time, so US-based fans of AMOLED display-sporting Android slates and circular Tizen smartwatches need to set their alarms early, for 5 am EDT or 2 am PDT.

It’s of course possible only the Samsung Gear S3 is in the pipeline here, or perhaps that intriguing standalone “Odyssey” VR headset too. What, we’re not allowed to dream anymore just because tipsters and leakers seemingly know it all nowadays?
