As crystal clear as everything looks on the Galaxy S7 speculation front with less than a week left until the “next big thing’s” announcement, it’s practically impossible to predict exactly what Android tablet or tablets will be chaperoning the premium phone at MWC in Barcelona.

We’re expecting an onslaught of 7 to 10-inch launches in the coming month or two, but Samsung could select any one, two or more of these diverse models to bring to the Mobile World Congress, and it might also choose to cancel a few.

They’re undoubtedly too over the place to each find a target audience of its own, not to mention a little lackluster, familiar and similar to 2015 variants. Case in point, this mysterious SM-T280 device rendered for the press in white and black today, which could be named Galaxy Tab A 7.0 or Tab E 7.0.

Made entirely out of plastic, the compact 5.1 Lollipop-running slate is tipped to cost as little as €170 ($190) when only capable of browsing the web via Wi-Fi connections, and €220 with LTE speeds (model number SM-T285).

That sounds relatively affordable, but the specifications are fittingly, if not disappointingly, mediocre. You have your standard low-end 1,280 x 800 pixels resolution display, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB expandable storage, 5 and 2MP cameras, and sub-par 4,000 mAh battery. Also, a quad-core Exynos 3475 processor, reportedly, that’s previously powered the Galaxy On5 and On7 handhelds.

Not quite MWC standout material there, though Samsung probably doesn’t want anything to spoil GS7’s coming-out party anyway.
