Samsung announced a whole slew of new products yesterday and while most of the action was happening in London, we also found a Samsung ATIV Tab 3 on display at a small expo in New York City. The ATIV Tab 3’s claim to fame is the fact that it’s the thinnest full Windows 8 tablet around. The tablet is only 0.32 inches thick and weighs a very light 1.2 lbs. For internals, it’s got a 1.8 ghz Intel Atom Z2760 dual-core processor, 2Gb RAM, and 64Gb of storage with a MicroSD card for adding another 32gb of storage. It also comes with a 90 day trial of Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 and after the 90 days you can buy it for a discounted price.  Photoshop Elements is a bit slow on these specs, but the S-Pen included does support pressure sensitive drawing.  It might be a little laggy with only 2Gb of RAM though so don’t expect this to be an awesome artists’ tablet.  The real star is the thinness and portability!

The Tab 3 will also come with a detachable keyboard case for its $699 price.  The keyboard feels quite nice and should be very usable though it does not include a track pad area. It also has a stand-up option so that you can set everything up like a mini-laptop when you’re at a desk or table.
