For as many tablets as Samsung makes, it sure doesn’t seem too concerned with pushing the envelope for many, and we’ve complained time after time about middling specs for Tab models and resolutions that were far too low for the screen sizes being used. The frustrating part has been knowing how Samsung is well capable of delivering tablets with stunning displays – like on the Nexus 10 with its 2560 x 1600 panel – yet not seeing them used on more models. Thankfully, some more high-res slates could be in the pipeline, with rumors coming in over the weekend about two more 2560 x 1600 models.

One is reportedly a 12.2-inch model powered by an Exynos 5 Octa (presumably the refreshed design we just learned of), arriving as model SM-P900. The other would be a slightly smaller 10-incher, model SM-P600, but this time running a Snapdragon 800.

We’d already heard about SM-P900, and saw evidence for it – along with a couple variants – earlier this month. This new information also adds the detail that the tablet might support the S Pen. This model number doesn’t appear to be part of the Note family, so we’re not sure quite what to think of that for the moment.

Just as we saw a UAProf file on Samsung’s servers for the SM-P900 before, there’s also one for the SM-P600, verifying those resolution claims. We’ve already heard that Samsung would be making the next Nexus 10 – could this be the form that tablet takes?
