While Samsung still manages to captivate us with tablets like the ATIV Q, it’s also been swinging and missing when it comes to some other models, like the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0. As such, its whole tablet lineup has felt a little disjointed. Things may be looking better in the future, with a firmer focus on more capable hardware, or at least that’s what we’re thinking about after checking out evidence pointing to work on a 12.2-inch, 2560 x 1600 Android model.

UAProf files point to the existence of at least three variants of this hardware, models SM-P900, SM-P901, and SM-P905, the 3G, WiFi, and LTE versions, respectively. Those files confirm that the tablet runs Android 4.2 and reveal that 2560 x 1600 resolution.

As for the size, that comes from an Indian import/export database, which specifically mentions SM-P905 as having a 12.2-inch display.

If this all sounds a little familiar, it should: we already heard a device like this rumored, and this evidence seems to confirm those claims.

Sure, we already have 10-inch Samsung devices with that resolution (the Nexus 10), but even a 12.2 inches, that’s still a respectable density of 247ppi. If it’s thin and light enough, this one sounds like it could have some real potential.
