Polaroid is showing off a larger version of its PoGo ink-less line of Bluetooth printers, along with an Android app which allows photogs to add text and borders to the 3-inch by 4-inch prints. Successor to the original PoGo thermal printer which debuted in 2008, the upcoming PoGo 3×4 Instant Print increases the print size by an inch in each direction, while maintaining the dual input options of either USB or Bluetooth (both printing and OBEX profiles are supported).
Even more interesting is the debut of an application in the Android Market which allows users to prep their photos with different border styles or text messages in the bottom white space. For now, the editing software seems to be a bit of a storage hog at almost 18MB, although Pocket-lint reports that updates to the program should alleviate some of the bloat. An App Store version is also reportedly in the works, though Apple is said to use increased caution when approving Bluetooth-reliant applications.
While the Android app is already available for download, the new PoGo 3×4 Instant Print will hit shelves later this year for £99.99 ($154) — the same price as the original PoGo, but as we all know, it's the $20-for-30-refills where the real profit lies.
