Sony’s PlayStation 5 game reveal event is happening on June 11

Sony recently decided to postpone their PS5 Game Event for good cause given all the unrest and the protests happening in the US right now. Well, if you were waiting for it, the company just announced a new date for the event. It’ll be happening on June 11 at 1:00 PM PDT. You’ll be able to tune in to it on PlayStation’s YouTube and Twitch channels. As a little surprise, Sony says that the online pre-taped program will be broadcasted at 1080p resolution at 30fps, it’ll run for a little more than an hour and it will be available to everybody. Be sure to prepare popcorn cause we doubt it’ll be short.

Samsung and Corning are working together to develop UTG glass for foldable phones

Samsung introduced their Ultra Thin Glass for foldables this year with the Galaxy Z Flip and we’re expecting to see it on the upcoming Fold. The current material is produced by a Korean manufacturer called Dowoo Insys but Samsung apparently wants to step it up. The company is now partnering with Corning to bring costs down and to have better materials. Corning has apparently been working on foldable glass since 2019 and we could see Samsung phones with this new UTG as soon as 2021.

Apple could let you take long distance group selfies in the future

It looks like Apple is looking to take social distancing to a whole new level. A new patent shows that the company is working on a way to take a group selfie, without all of the people in the picture being present. It would send an invitation to you, and all of the participants would take a separate picture, and software would create a synthetic group picture. The funny part is that Apple filed this patent back in 2018 and it was just granted back to them, probably due to the pandemic. This feature would not only work with still selfies, it would also allow live streaming images and stored video images.

Samsung planning August 5 online launch for Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Fold 2: Reports

As we’re getting close to August, we get more and more leaks for Samsung’s Event. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch which will apparently be called Galaxy Watch 3 just got a new certification on Thailand’s NTBC. The listing reveals that it’ll be available in 41mm and 45mm variants, both of them supporting LTE connectivity. Samsung also briefly opened up some support pages on their Korean website which were quickly taken down, hinting to the launch. Some of the other listings also show that the device will bring Gorilla Glass XD, 5ATM water resistance and an extra certification for durability. On another note, according to a new report, talks are underway to finalize an online event on August 5th for the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20+. On a previous report, Ice Universe mentioned the same date on a Weibo post after he revealed the list of devices we’re expecting for this event. The devices include the Note Line-up, the Galaxy Fold 2, and the 5G variant of the Galaxy Z Flip. We should also expect the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ and the Galaxy Watch 2 which might actually be called Galaxy Watch 3 according to the certifications.
