On the road leading up to HTC’s launch of its One M8 smartphone, we were already expecting a nice selection of choices for what colors the Android might be available in. Back at the end of January, for example, it was looking like we might get two shades of gray, in addition to red and blue options. Ultimately, we got gold instead of those brighter hues, but it’s been looking like some of those other colors might still arrive – and last week we checked out just such a render of the One M8 in red. Now a rumor is claiming that not only is red upcoming, but also that blue could still be on the way, as well as an all-new pink shade.

Last year’s HTC One eventually saw the arrival of red and blue options of its own, but we never got an official pink offering from the manufacturer.

But even assuming that these three new color options are on their way (we’ve yet to see any imagery of actual hardware, and it’s all too easy to recolor a render), when might they arrive?

Remember, the original blue HTC One didn’t show up until nearly half a year after the phone’s initial launch; should we be on the lookout for these new options already, or is this the sort of thing that might leave us waiting around until IFA in September before it’s ready to go official?
