Pebble taps Best Buy for help with Pebble Time pre-orders

If you helped fund the release of the color-screened Pebble Time through the company’s Kickstarter efforts, odds are good that you’ve either already got your new smartwatch in-hand, or it’s on its way in the mail presently. But if you missed that chance to throw some cash down on a Pebble Time, your next shot is coming up soon: a couple weeks back, Pebble shared news about the start of public Pebble Time pre-orders, set to open on Monday, June 22. Today, as we wait for those pre-order to get started, new details arrive about just how the process will work, with Pebble scoring an exclusive retail partner.

Instead of accepting Pebble Time pre-orders itself, Pebble is teaming up with Best Buy, which will be the exclusive online home for pre-orders coming from the US.

We also get a little (if not vague) update on just how long these pre-orders will retain their “pre” status, with Pebble promising that shipments will begin “soon after” Best Buy starts accepting them.

Keep in mind, this is all still for the plastic-bodied Pebble Time; retail sales of the metal Pebble Time Steel will be arriving in due time, though details aren’t yet available.
