Overnight we told you about a rumored upcoming Pantech smartphone – we know, it can be hard to care about Pantech, but this model IM-A870, supposedly an essentially bezel-free five-incher, sounded more interesting than most. Today we get some new details on the phone, including info on when it might launch.
First up, we now have a name for the flagship, which could arrive as the Vega Iron. Its five-inch screen would unsurprisingly be a 1080p component, and the handset would be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 600 running at 1.7GHz. It would have 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera, and support both LTE and NFC, but the small-sounding 2150mAh battery has us just a bit concerned. Reported measurements make it just barely smaller than the similarly five-inch-screened Galaxy S 4, though at 8.8 millimeters, it’s slightly thicker than a GS4.
If the teaser image above is any indication, Pantech could be planning to formally announce the Vega Iron in a little under a week.
