Orange Adds Carrier Billing For WP7 Marketplace Purchases

By Anton D. Nagy February 24, 2011, 8:51 am

Orange will be another carrier to join the pack already represented by Telstra and AT&T to offer carrier billing for purchases made from the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace.

Xavier Perret, Orange's Vice President of Strategic Partnership regards it as "a new step forward in our partnership with Microsoft on Windows Phone 7" and users will be able to benefit from "a simpler and more secure payment method". No longer will your Credit or Debit Card be billed but your monthly Operator Bill will carry all information, to present every purchase nicely listed on the invoice alongside your monthly subscription fees. The new feature will be available for Orange customers starting this week so if you're one of them, let us know of your thoughts!
