Oppo has done a good job in keeping itself on our radar lately with the rumors of a mini variant of the N1. The N1 might not be as popular as many would’ve wished in areas outside of China, but that doesn’t change the fact that there is a lot of cool to this phone. Its unique swivel-camera design is indeed a smart way to help you take a selfie, and if you’re not a fan of the huge 5.9-inch Oppo N1 to do this, here’s a smaller solution, sort of.

The Oppo N1 Mini has now been made official, and the only thing that’s not “mini” about this phone is its size. With a 5-inch display, and a chassis that’s even bigger than the HTC One M8, you’d wonder exactly why would Oppo launch this phone. The question is mainly due to the fact that its specifications aren’t really groundbreaking. It sports a 720p display, which is down from the 1080p display of its bigger brother. The rest of the specifications are still a mystery as Oppo wasn’t nice enough to share them yet.

Call it a mini or not, that swivel-camera design is still a cool feature that other OEMs should consider. Hopefully that’ll be the case in the future, as we doubt we’ll see this phone in western shores.
