Next OnePlus product sounds like some kind of gaming system

Back during MWC a few weeks ago, OnePlus hinted at what was coming up next for the company. No, not the OnePlus 2; the firm said to expect something that would represent its first foray into a new product category. And after clarifying that we weren’t about to get a smartwatch nor a tablet, we were left scratching our heads as to just what it might actually be. OnePlus still isn’t quite ready to make its big announcement, but the new teasers it’s putting out today sure look like they’re hinting at some OnePlus gaming hardware.

With all the talk of “a new game,” “fun,” and “control,” a gaming console could be a smart bet – maybe something like the NVIDIA Shield Android TV box (even if OnePlus doesn’t go with Android TV – though Android in some form could still be a possibility). Maybe OnePlus is working on an accessory for the One – a shell that adds some thumbsticks or other hardware controls. And all these red lights in its teasers might point to some sort of optical tracking system – maybe something like the PlayStation Move? While we’re at a loss when it comes to many specifics, the idea that whatever this product is will fall under the heading of gaming is looking a lot more sound.
