One Million LG Optimus One Units Sold Worldwide In 40 Days

You might remember that the Android 2.2 Froyo powered LG Optimus One, to which the manufacturer refers to as the “transitional smartphone”, scored fairly well in benchmarks being almost on par with the Nexus One.

LG announced today that it sold one million of LG Optimus One units worldwide in merely 40 days after its initial release. Available in most of Europe, Asia-Pacific countries and the USA (as Optimus S on Sprint, Optimus T with T-Mobile and Vortex coming soon to Verizon – to be launched on November 18, 2010), the Optimus One is, according to the manufacturer, “the fastest selling mobile handset in the company’s history” and is a reason for high hopes as Optimus One will soon be available via 120 carriers and partners and the manufacturer expects it to be its first 10 million-seller smartphone.
