OLPC stands for “One Laptop Per Child” and the company who aims at overseeing the creation of affordable educational devices has just announced a new, seven-inch tablet, at CES 2013. The design will be licensed to Sakar International and the slate will be sold in the U.S. via Walmart, though no pricing is available yet.

As far as specs are concerned the XO Tablet has a seven-inch screen with a 1024 x 600 resolution, is powered by a dual-core processor, and has 1GB of RAM. There are 8GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card slot, WiFi functionality as well as a pair of front and rear cameras.
