Nokia Ovi Store Updated To Version 2.2.3 / 2.04.00038

By Anton D. Nagy February 2, 2011, 7:13 am

Nokia's Ovi Store, the place to download mobile games, applications, videos, images, and ring tones for Nokia devices, has been recently updated to version 2.2.3 (though the post-installation About screen shows version 2.04.00038). Someone familiar with the matter already tipped us of an upcoming update to the Ovi Store that would bring in-app Purchases and Carrier storefronts but it looks like this particular update is still yet to roll-out.

The update is a patch release including various fixes and enhancements among which full Arabic support, bugfixes for T-Mobile's Nokia E72 (allowing users to access the store from embedded bookmarks), a Search fix that will bring up more relevant results as well as support for Qt based app installation. A prompt for update should notify you of the application refresh' existence so you know when it's available (and if you have a Symbian^3 device, this update will be the largest ever, weighing 4MB).
