Nokia Debunks Android Rumors Once Again, Reiterates Elop’s Real Words

We’re sorry for those of you who had your hopes high regarding a future possible Nokia phone running Android, after Stephen Elop yesterday said that “anything is possible”. The quality of Nokia-made devices surely calls for some wishful thinking but the rumors and speculation just won’t stop, regardless of how many times company officials debunk the bits.

The language barrier seems to be the culprit this time (and we’ve seen stuff like this happen) and apparently Stephen Elop’s words were misinterpreted. Nokia issued the company-approved message (Elop’s real words) and it goes like this: “So, the way I think about it is, in the current war on ecosystems, we are fighting with Windows Phone. That’s what we’re doing. Now, what we’re always doing is asking, how does thatevolve? What’s next? What role does HTML5 play? What role does Android or other things play in the future? We’re looking further into the future, but it terms of what we’re bringing to market, and what we’re immediately focused on, we’re focused on Windows Phone”.

In other words: Nokia is committed to Windows Phone. There we have it, once again!
