Nokia Hypes Lumia 610 Update

With so much focus on Nokia’s new Lumia models, it’s easy to lose sight of the company’s existing lineup, especially when that comes to the lower-end of its offerings, the Lumia 610. Sales of budget-priced smartphones are still a huge deal to the manufacturers making them available, which may explain why Nokia’s so excited about the new software update it has ready to go for the 610, promising to deliver some system-wide improvements.

No, we’re not quite into Windows Phone 7.8 territory just yet, but Nokia’s not about to sit back and wait for that to arrive to introduce its own improvements. The new 610 update should make the handset faster and more responsive, with a particular focus (no pun intended) on improving camera functionality.

Nokia didn’t provide a precise date for when the update will start going out, but it sounds like it’s just a matter of days. Once it starts, the update will be distributed on a country-by country basis.
