Professional or hobby photographers might know the name EOS from Canon cameras but it appears that Windows Phone enthusiasts will also have to get used to it if this report turns out to become reality. Rumor has it Nokia is preparing a real PureView Windows Phone, called Nokia EOS (not that the Lumia 920 is not a real PureView device, or at least that’s what Nokia said to defend the phone when we said it’s not the PureView we were used to).

According to unnamed sources, said Nokia EOS will pack a similar sensor found on the 808 PureView, and, being built from aluminum instead of plastic, it will be a high-end device. It will also bring a new design and AT&T in the US will have the phone in its line-up. What is currently unsure is how will Windows Phone, as an OS, handle the sensor (if the sensor will indeed be a 41MP sensor like on the 808) or the oversampling used for sharpening images.
