Nexus S Hardware Review (Video)

The Nexus S might seem familiar. That’s because inside, it’s basically the same phone as the Samsung Focus and the Galaxy S series of devices like the Captivate. The main differentiator is that the Nexus S has an NFC chip and front-facing camera, plus it looks a bit different with its contour display. Don’t be fooled by the fancy name for the screen, it’s really just a Super AMOLED screen (which is a good thing) with some added visual flair. Beyond that, the device does indeed feel a bit cheap, but it’s also quite light, like the Samsung Focus. In a strange move, Google and Samsung didn’t include a microSD slot, though the 16GB of onboard storage should be plenty for most. We’ll have more on the Nexus S soon!
