Android 7.0 Nougat wasn’t as flashy as you expected it to be, right? Where was the Nexus Launcher? Where’s Allo and Google Assistant and that “not a home button” home button? Where are all the software changes that we’re looking forward to on the Marlin Nexus device?

Not here just yet. But XDA developer Nate Benis is telling us that all of that stuff you saw from Android Police are from the first Maintenance Release of Android Nougat, scheduled to be pushed out this fall. The initial version Nougat is mostly based off of Developer Preview 5.

“[It] does not have any of the ‘proprietary features Android Police and myself have been leaking’,” Benis posted on his Google+ page.

The developer told us to look for a developer preview of MR1 soon.
