Last week we got to check out the official ASUS dock for the Nexus 7 tablet, thanks to a short video hands-on. The dock’s been something of a mystery, since we’re already coming up on being half a year out from the Nexus 7’s release, and we’ve yet to see it reach any kind of broad availability. A listing for the dock on the ASUS Japanese website showed it as out of stock, and we weren’t aware of any retailers that had managed to secure their own stocks. That’s finally starting to change, and B&H in the US is accepting pre-orders for the dock.

That Japanese price worked out to about the equivalent of $42, so we were hoping to see international availability mirror that kind of affordability. Sure enough, B&H is asking just about $40 for the dock. It’s only up for pre-order at the moment, and while you won’t be able to snag one in time for the holidays, at least you could start the year out with a dock for your Nexus 7, as B&H is expecting stocks to become available on December 30.

Hopefully, we’ll see even more retail options become available as we get closer to the end of the year.
