You can trigger the notification shade on the Pixel and Pixel XL by swiping down the capacitive fingerprint sensor on the back. In fact, you can do that on several phones including ones from Huawei.

However, regarding the Google phones, this feature came in from the native Android 7.1 pre-load. The Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P didn’t get this Move in their settings page with the 7.1.1 update.

Now that Android 7.1.2 has come around in the Android Beta Program, Reddit is relaying word (and Pocketnow can confirm) that Nexus 5X can now turn on this Move. We’re not sure when the Nexus 6P will get this feature — perhaps this will be in another maintenance update down the road — but it is expected to come along at some point.
