The Nexus 4 may still have a crazy backorder at the Google Play Store for US customers (currently sold out of 8GB, with 5-6 weeks of a wait for the 16GB model), but if you ordered early, and your phone has arrived by now, you’ve finally got another chance to keep it in like-new condition. As of a little earlier today, the official Nexus 4 bumpers are back in stock, ready to ship out in just a few days.

Like the phones themselves, the bumpers had seen their own period of unavailability, but for the moment, at least, they’re back. Twenty dollars will fetch you one of the cases, protecting your Nexus 4’s sides while keeping the face and back just slightly raised in the hopes of preventing incidental scratches.

Personally, I don’t like cases one bit, but after seeing how closely this bumper hugs the Nexus 4, and how well it blends into the design of the phone itself when installed, I had to jump on this opportunity to grab one for myself. After all, all that exposed glass has me plenty nervous. There’s no telling how long these will last, so if you’ve been considering nabbing one, you might want to make up your mind quickly.

Update: Annnnnnd they’re gone.
