New Samsung Galaxy S II, Omnia 7 Firmwares Available [Update X2]

By Anton D. Nagy May 21, 2011, 12:13 pm

If you are using the Samsung Galaxy S II, you’ll be happy to find out that a brand new ROM update is available for your smartphone. There’s really not much info related to it at the moment but we know, courtesy of SamFirmware, that it’s version I9100XWKE7 XEUKD1 XXKE4. You can download it by following the source link below.

If you, on the other hand, are a Windows Phone user and own a Samsung Omnia 7, there’s a firmware out for your smartphone too. It appears to be a NoDo ROM with version I8700XXKC1 XXKB2 but, as with the case of the Galaxy S II, nothing else is known about the update. You can also download it by following the source link below.

Note: Since no details are known, act carefully (you might even hold back) as flashing an incorrect version of a ROM can render your device unusable.

Update: Apparently the new Samsung Galaxy S II firmware brings a lot of fixes to the table: improved battery life, more accurate GPS, reduced pink spot when taking pictures, more free RAM available when the smartphone is starting up. (Thanks ThTa)

Update 2: It appears the the Samsung Omnia 7 firmware is actually build 7392 of Windows Phone 7 so it’s post-NoDo with the May security update for SSL certs included — most probably a cumulative one. Versions are: Firmware 2424.11.3.1, Radio 2424.11.2.2 and Bootloader 5.3.0.4.
