32GB Nexus 10 joins 16GB option as “out of inventory;” new model imminent?

Is a new Nexus 10 ever coming out? A couple weeks back we were talking about the (admittedly unlikely) possibility of Samsung and Google unveiling a new model at the CES, but that clearly hasn’t happened (despite an otherwise awesome-sauce tablet showing from Samsung). Rumors about a new Nexus 10 go back months and months; all the way back in October we saw the 16GB Nexus 10 not just go “out of stock” but go “out of inventory” and wondered if that might foretell the coming availability of a new model. While nothing’s happened since, the other shoe may have just dropped, as the 32GB Nexus 10 is similarly “out of inventory” at the US Play Store.

Now, there are a couple ways this could go: we could see the tablet come back in a few days (or a few weeks), same as before, but considering the 16GB model hasn’t come back yet, that sounds pretty unlikely. Maybe Google is just done with the Nexus 10 altogether; there’s no certainty that the company intends to continue with the line, despite rumors and leaks hinting at new hardware, and it could very continue on with just one Nexus phone and one Nexus tablet.

Or maybe that new Nexus 10 really is finally within reach.
