Indonesia is an Android user’s market. It’s not unlike most other parts in the world. But while Microsoft is struggling to keep Windows 10 Mobile market share, the country is still a hotspot of activity for other companies. It seems that Redmond doesn’t want to ignore it. Of concern to us is whether Microsoft wants to deliver its hotness in either a variant of an existing Lumia device or a new one.
The Lumia 950 passed through the FCC as PYARM-1105 and sold as the RM-1118 while the Lumia 950 XL is out as the RM-1116. The just-released Lumia 550 took up RM-1127, RM-1128 and RM-1130 for its internal badge. Anticipated Lumia devices in the 600 or 700 series have gone under their latest respective callsigns and RM-1156.
The RM-1182 may be an update to the 700 or 800 series as the model number jump interval may suggest. It’s been just over a year since the Lumia 735 came out. It could just as well be the next 800-series device, too.
Whatever the case may be, we’re glad that Microsoft is bringing mobile out of hibernation and competing again.
