There’s been no shortage when it comes to leaks of the HTC M8, the phone that looks like it’s going to launch as the all new One in just a few weeks. A number of pictures of the phone’s hardware have crossed our desk, some more believable than others, and last week we saw a bunch of high-quality renders of the handset. Was the book already closed on the M8’s design? Well, maybe not; even in that most recent leak we spotted a number of discrepancies, and now a new image shows additional changes.

Two things really stand out to us in the above pics. First, there’s that new ring around the primary camera and the dual-color flash. We might be able to explain that away as a consequence of this being an “evaluation model” (and hence, with an unfinished design) according to the source behind the images, who also added that the phone’s software was still quite buggy.

Then there’s that rim around the phone, which you can really see in the front shot. That has us flashing back to the HTC One Mini, and wondering if this might be the Mini version of the M8 – a device that we’ve heard mentioned before.

It’s also worth noting that the original poster of these pics has since taken them down and removed his description (captured below on Google’s cache, for as long as that lasts). Read into that action what you will.

Update: OK, fair enough. This well may be just a case.
