Mozo gets ready to follow up its famous leather Lumia 950 cover with real-wood option

It’s rare that a smartphone is so defined by an accessory, especially a third-party one, but when we saw Microsoft showing off the new Lumia 950 and 950 XL at those phones’ launch event alongside their custom leather Mozo covers, we knew we were looking at something special. Indeed, while you’ll find plenty of criticism about the design Microsoft went with for its Windows 10 Mobile flagship models, it’s almost like those objections vanish when we wrap one of those phones in Mozo’s smart-looking leather shell. Now the case maker’s planning to give 950/XL users even more options for sprucing up their phones as it announces an upcoming wooden cover.

The company teased the design you see above on social media, noting that it’s constructed from real wood.

Right now Mozo’s not offering any details in terms of pricing or availability, and we’re finding it difficult to predict whether or not this new option might come in a little cheaper than the admittedly quite pricy leather backs, or if wood is a premium enough material to justify the same sort of expenditure.

We’re also curious to get more details about what sort of variability we might see in terms of real-wood designs, and if we’ll have our choice of various wood types and finishes.
