With a little over a week left until a joint Motorola/Verizon NYC press event, a massive fresh information spill seems to divulge everything about the Droid Turbo 2 and Maxx 2. Well, everything that wasn’t public knowledge already, plus a few tidbits that were, but perhaps needed additional corroboration.
Yes, the Turbo 2, aka Bounce, aka Big Red-exclusive X Force, is indeed “shatterproof”, and to further emphasize the robustness selling point, it’ll come with a unique trade-in promotion. Verizon shall offer up to $300 for select pre-owned phones to folks interested in purchasing the Turbo 2, including those looking to discard cracked handhelds.
Of course, it’s unlikely you’ll get the maximum trade-up value for a device with a shattered screen, though even $100 would be welcomed. Ever tried to hawk a badly damaged phone on eBay? Spoiler alert – it’s not easy.
The leaked marketing material also reveals the unbreakable Motorola Droid Turbo 2 will be available in Moto Maker in “over 1,000 combinations” of colors, accents, and different builds, including fancy leather and ultra-tough ballistic nylon. The icing on the promo cake will apparently be a complimentary “design refresh” upon the purchase of a 64GB Turbo 2. Sounds awesome, but let’s wait and see exactly how much such a hoarder-friendly configuration might cost.
In case the brochures feel a bit blurry to make out the 5.5-incher’s exterior, a slew of prematurely divulged Qmadix protective covers showcase the front panel in full glory, flash selfie cam, stereo speakers and all.
As far as the Droid Maxx 2 is concerned, the X Play “twin” should last up to 48 hours between charges, and provide up to $300 savings for traders as well, just not with cracked screens.
