Is Motorola’s smartphone lineup getting a little busy? Instead of one Moto X this year we got two, in the form of both the Moto X Play and Moto X Style. And to hear the latest news, Motorola phones should be about to get even more numerous still, as Lenovo hands the keys to its smartphone business over to its recently acquired subsidiary. Today we wonder if we might already be starting to see the effects of that shift, as a leak attempts to reveal the Motorola Bounce.
With a 5.43-inch quad HD display, Snapdragon 810 SoC, 3GB of RAM, and options for either 32GB or 64GB storage, the Bounce sounds like it should easily be able to hold its own against the company’s recent models, and even give the flagship Style a run for its money. Besides getting this slightly beefier SoC, the Motorola Bounce could also marry Style-level specs with a Play-size battery, ending up with a 3760mAh component. Like both those phones, look for a 21MP/5MP camera combo.
The Bounce will reportedly be “shatterproof” (we presume we’re talking about the display), but the full extent of its ruggedization isn’t yet clear. We’re also not sure about what Motorola’s intent may be concerning how and where this phone is sold, and if it might follow in the footsteps of those new Moto X models and enjoy selective regional availability. However it does emerge, word is that it may do so sometime this December.
That will hopefully give us lots of time for additional Bounce leaks to arrive, which sounds great considering how many questions we still have. What’s going on with that black bar at the bottom of the phone’s face in this render, for example? We’ll be on the lookout for an answer.
