Motorola hosting yet another Moto X sale, deep discounts to be had

If you’ve been itching for a Moto X, even amidst rumors of an upcoming successor, now may be a good time to bite the bullet on Motorola’s 2013 flagship. Motorola is hosting a Moto X 32GB deal, heavily discounting the device to $349.

The price, as Motorola’s email to select previous customers reads, is $100 off from Motorola’s usual asking price. Weirdly enough, this information is inaccurate — you can purchase an off-contract Moto X through Motorola’s Moto Maker customization service for $399 at the time of this writing. Either way, buyers are receiving a substantial discount on a phone that’s already fairly cheap.

The 16GB model looks to be receiving no price cut, which could mean that it will be available for the same price as its 32GB sibling on the days this sale is live.

The phone itself has specs that may not impress on paper, but as we wrote in our review, the device’s actual performance remains snappy. Powered by Motorola’s X8 Mobile Computing System (outfitted with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro system-on-a-chip), 2 gigabytes of RAM, and a 720p 4.7″ display, the device remains a good buy, though it could be worth waiting for Motorola’s rumored upcoming flagship (expected to launch late this summer).

Motorola’s discount deal on the 32GB Moto X will be live for 48 hours, starting on June 4 at 12:00 AM EDT (4:00 AM GMT), and ending on June 5 (probably midnight on June 6, for the 48-hour time to hold true).

Update: We’re having a hard time figuring this deal out. Now it’s looking more like you can purchase the Moto X 32GB for $299 with the same dates as mentioned above, not $399. However, this still means the source link below is incorrect. The good thing is, we only have two and a half more hours until the sale goes live (at this time of writing), so we won’t have long to wait to find out.

Update 2: The price is $349, and the deal is available on Moto Maker. Turns out, the $399 price only applies to the Republic Wireless model, so this truly is a $100 discount for every 32GB model except the Republic Wireless model (which has been knocked down by $50). Yeah, it’s confusing. [Thanks, Artem / Android Police]
