If you can’t wait for Motorola to stock up the new Moto X later today on its online store, and are an AT&T customer, you’re in luck. The carrier has made pre-orders of the second-generation X available through its online store, but there are a couple catches if you’re going to get your Moto X 2014 pre-orders in through this system.

The device is available in three flavors – Black Leather, Bamboo, and Black Resin – and customizing the phone through Motorola’s Moto Maker is not yet an option. Weirdly enough, AT&T can’t quite decide what to call the phone; both Moto X2 (which we’ve never heard before officially) and Moto X (2nd Generation) are being tossed around, along with other names. Rest assured that you’re buying the correct phone, however.

As we reported when the phone launched, the new Moto X will retail at $99 on a two-year contract. AT&T has other pricing options though: you can pay $26.35 a month for 20 months, $21.96 a month for 24 months, or $526.99 off-contract (which is interesting, because we were told that the price for units without a service commitment was $499.99). If you pre-order now, AT&T says your handset will ship on August 23.
