Google Play edition Moto G begins receiving Lollipop update
While it may be late enough to get your pitchforks shaking, Google Play edition Moto G users, the Lollipop update is finally here. Yes, stock Lollipop, as vanilla as it can be, is on its way out to phones everywhere as part of this Moto G GPe Lollipop update wave, and we’ve even got a download link you can use to speed up the process in case the OTA isn’t available to you specifically.
The software version rolling out is the latest build of Android, version 5.0.1, and it’s build number LRX21Z. We should point out that this build is seemingly slightly order than the 22Z build received by other Nexus and Google Play edition devices, but we’re sure that the number makes very little (if any) difference in this context.
The update weighs in at around 380MB, and is heading out over-the-air in batches, so make sure you have the storage to let it install so you aren’t left in the cold when your turn comes around. Or if you can’t wait at all, hit up that source link to download a flashable version of the update so you can manually apply it with some simple adb/fastboot tricks.
