Mobile World Congress Coverage Starts Soon, Windows Phone Comes Early

I think it’s safe to say that anyone that keeps tabs on Windows Mobile has had Mobile World Congress circled on their calendars for many months now. Why such the hype?

We expect there to be a ton of awesome news on Windows Mobile, or actually Windows Phone (as msmobiles points out, the rebranding of WinMo to just Windows Phone may be happening sooner than later). We’re looking to hear from Steve Ballmer of Microsoft, who will finally take the wraps off of Windows Mobile 6.5 plus its companion cloud-based services (such as the Marketplace application store, and My Phone free synchronization service).

We’re also looking forward to some fancy new devices from HTC (allowing us to finally make sense of their leaked roadmap). We’re also expecting some new stuff out of i-mate, Acer, Toshiba, and others, all having to do with new Windows Mobile devices.

If you haven’t yet, be sure to read Your Definitive Pre-Release Windows Mobile 6.5 Guide, which contains everything that we know so far about the next version of Windows Mobile.

We have a busy few days ahead of us at pocketnow.com. To keep up with the latest and hottest Windows Mobile news and insights out of MWC, follow us on Twitter or via RSS.
