Windows Phone 7 Sync Software for Mac Comes Later This Year

There was an earlier rumour that Windows Phone 7 would gain Mac compatibility based on a tweet by Oded Ran – Head of Consumer Marketing, Windows Phone, Microsoft UK – which looks to be deleted now but, on the same story line, we get some official hints from Microsoft itself.

According to the Redmond Company statement, “later in 2010 Microsoft will make a public beta available of a tool that allows Windows Phone 7 to sync select content with Mac computers”. With this, Microsoft is going where it hasn’t gone before, trying to draw Mac users into the Windows Phone 7 pool or simply acknowledging that there might actually be Mac users going the Windows Phone 7 way, aside from the fact that this could open up possibilities in growing the Windows PC customer pool. And, if there’s iTunes for Windows, why wouldn’t there be Zune for Mac?
