The debut of Microsoft’s first laptop-format computing solution has everyone in tech circles abuzz (you can find my opinion on what this device as well as the Surface Pro 4 might mean for the proliferation of “detachable computing” here). And it has heavy-duty white collar wearers pondering their options.

It has a 13.5-inch screen that’s fully detachable from the extensive and craftily-designed keyboard attached to it.

You could say that while the Surface tablet series migrated all the necessary hardware features screenside, the Surface Book put the “lap” back into “laptop,” with USB ports, major processing units and battery to last half a day.

Find out more of the hardware features, including a specially-designed hinge, advanced keyboard switches and a wire of muscle in our hands-on video. All of impressions are right down below!
