They say there are no certainties in life, but just as we’re positive the sun will rise tomorrow morning and Donald Trump’s hair will continue to look ridiculous, Microsoft is guaranteed to finally uncover the world’s first Windows 10 Mobile flagships come October 6.
The thoroughly rumored, leaked, and detailed Lumia 950 and 950 XL are unlikely to fly solo at the big New York shindig, with an upgraded Surface Pro “laplet” and refreshed Microsoft Band also on the menu.
But what about a prospective third phone? No, not the entry-level Lumia 550. A mid-range 5-incher going by the RM-115 model number, and expected to sport a 720p screen, among other average features.
Does this mystery handheld have a name? That’s where incertitude and doubt come in, though Lumia 750 seems a relatively safe bet, since no 650 configuration is reportedly in the works, and an 850 should really offer 1,080p display resolution.
As you can guess, the RM-115 is far from an officially confirmed commercial product, yet two very reputable tipsters, AdDuplex CEO Alan Mendelevich and former Neowin Executive Editor Brad Sams, appear to have it on good authority it’s legit, and coming soon.
Two full months ago, the Microsoft Lumia 750 had its specifications revealed almost in their entirety by a similarly credible source, and they included a 5-inch HD panel (coincidence?), quad-core Snapdragon 410 SoC, 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM, 8 and 5MP cameras, as well as a 2,560 mAh battery. It also goes without saying this is to definitely run Windows 10 Mobile off the bat.
