The latest rumors mention Microsoft in talks with Foursquare, but the Redmond-based company isn’t the only one interested in an equity stake, according to a recent report from Bloomberg. American Express is also mentioned as a potential future partner.

Different, unnamed, sources unveiled different pieces of information, from the fact that Microsoft and AMEX are competing on this one, instead of joining forces for a single bid, to the fact that Foursquare is in talks with others too, but it does not mean a deal will be actually in place. Neither Foursquare nor Microsoft have commented on the report so far, but we’ll let you know as soon as we hear more.
