MetroTube is Coming Back!

I just got an exciting tweet from Lazyworm Apps linking to their website with a big “MetroTube is Back” headline which I am very excited about.  MetroTube had been pulled from the Windows Phone Marketplace a while back because YouTube wasn’t really cooperating with high quality streaming video APIs and Lazyworm couldn’t ensure the future of the app by resorting to unofficial hacks to get the good stuff working.  Google could change the way the apps access the rich content at any time they want without warning.  The developers have spent months trying to work with official channels in order to try to get something together that Microsoft and Google could get behind and promote.  Unfortunately, they had no luck, but since Metrotube was so popular, it looks like Lazyworm has decided to rerelease it anyway for free.

It doesn’t appear to be back in the Marketplace at this time, but I am very much looking forward to getting this premium and beautiful 3rd party YouTube app back on my Windows Phone.

UPDATE: The app has passed certification and should be back in the Marketplace today.

UPDATE: You can download Metrotube from the Marketplace here (though it may not appear in search yet).
