A metallic iPhone 6c is now rumored for 2016

We’ve spent the last couple of months both considering and dismissing the possibility of an iPhone mini. At first we saw the leaked images of an iPhone 5c successor, but those rumors were quickly shot by trusted sources as the iPhone 5s might still be slated for another year, given its popularity. For a moment there we thought this possibility wouldn’t happen, but it seems that Apple has a plan up its sleeve.

Sources now claim that Apple is working on a metallic iPhone 6c for a launch in 2016. Foxconn’s stock just grew 3.2% after the rumors hit the media, given the fact that it seems that the company will receive more than half of the orders for the metallic design of this new device, even though it will be manufactured by Hon Hai Technologies. The source claims that this device will be an extension to the existing iPhone 5s, and sport a 4-inch Retina Display. What’s not clear is if this “Extension” means that we’ll see the same design, or a new one.

Whatever the case may be, Apple is slated for an iPhone refresh in the next few months, and rumors should get more aggressive as time goes by.
