Meizu metal goes official with elegant design and decent specs

Meizu has gained a lot of fame lately due to its smartphone designs for the mid-to-low end market, and truly challenging competitors in the process. Surely we can’t deny that most, if not all its products look like an iPhone, the company has managed to pull that off without a legal scratch for reasons we still don’t understand. Today the company has launched yet another smartphone line that follows in its name, even if it lacks a capital letter at the beginning.

Meizu has just announced the new “metal,” which is a very nice-looking device that follows in its name by being fully made of that material. When it comes to specs we’re talking about a 5.5-inch 1080p display protected by Dinorex T2X-1 glass with 2.5D effect. We also have a 2.0 GHz MediaTek Helio X10 processor, 2GB of RAM, options for 16 and 32GB of storage, and microSD expansion as well. We also notice a 13 megapixel camera with dual-tone and dual-LED flash, a 5 megapixel selfie shooter, a front-facing fingerprint scanner, LTE connectivity and even dual-SIM support. The battery is rated at 3140 mAh as well.

The new Meizu metal runs on Android Lollipop with its proprietary Flyme 5.1 launcher, and the starting price is of just $199 on pre-order.
