Lumia camera leak fuels rumors of upcoming hardware
Microsoft’s clearly working on the next generation of Lumia hardware, phones that will be among the first models running Windows 10 Mobile. While there’s nothing official just yet, rumors have already made quite a few stabs at working our what we might hope to expect from these handsets. One big feature on the minds of a lot of Lumia fans has been the return of a really great camera, and expectations have been running high that some of these upcoming models might deliver imaging performance that truly lives up to the PureView name. Now a new leak gives us reason to be optimistic, as @evleaks returns with a look at what just might be the PureView camera on one of these new Lumia models.
While quite blurry, we’re obviously looking at one of the famous Oreo-style Lumia camera modules, as found on devices like the 1020 and 830. But is this one going to be another megapixel king like the former, or something a bit more restrained like the latter?
Well, there’s no xenon flash like on the 1020, and instead we see what appears to be a three-LED arrangement. Beneath that, we can just make out the lens. But without a little more to go on, it seems premature to call this “the next Lumia 1020.”
Could this be the long-rumored Lumia 940, then? Or the 940 XL? Both possibilities, but for now that’s one question we’re just going to have to leave open.
