Lumia 950 and 950 XL launched in India, free Display Docks start shipping in the US
After a rather disappointing end of last week for its North American fans, Microsoft kicks off the Cyber Monday festivities by giving prospective Lumia 950 and 950 XL buyers in India the greatest gift of all: availability.
Local Priority Reseller stores, as well as Croma, Reliance and Sangeetha, plus Amazon.in online will open pre-orders later today at Rs 43,699 for the smaller Windows 10 Mobile model, and Rs 49,399 for the Lumia 950 XL.
That converts to roughly $655 and $740 respectively, so a bit steeper than unlocked US price tags, but the good, nay, phenomenal news is both phones net you free Display Docks in the country for a limited time. Outside of the promo, the PC-transforming accessory shall cost Rs 5,999, or the equivalent of $90.
Technically, deliveries are slated to begin in India in no more than two weeks, specifically on December 11, but based on shortages and delays literally everywhere else, you should arm yourselves with patience and get that pre-order in as quickly as possible.
We have pretty great news to report for or US readers too, even though the Lumia 950 and 950 XL remain unavailable from Redmond’s e-outlet. Remember the Display Docks bundled with the Snapdragon 810-powered phablet at no extra charge that Microsoft said would ship “within 8-10 weeks of redemption?” They’re ready to reach your doorsteps by the end of the week, apparently, so massively ahead of schedule. Merry early Christmas, everybody!
