Live Messenger on iPhone Better Than Windows Mobile

Microsoft has released official Windows Live Messenger software for the iPhone and it includes some features not available even on Windows Mobile. Some of our readers were upset that Microsoft was not supporting Windows Mobile with the new Bing mobile site, and now we see another blow to Microsoft’s own operating system with this. According to Neowin, the new Windows Live for iPhone app supports Messenger Social features that include “friends’ photos and status updates from Windows Live, Facebook, and MySpace, and at a glance, see what your Messenger friends are sharing from Flickr, YouTube, and many other social and photo sharing sites.” The Windows Mobile 6.5 version of Windows Live only supports status updates and photos from Windows Live friends.

What is going on here? Is Microsoft not even trying to compete anymore? Or is Windows Live Messenger for Windows Phone 7 going to be 100 times better than this? Heck, Microsoft hasn’t even made Windows Live Messenger for their newest KIN or Zune HD devices! Where are the priorities?
