Limited edition, Pure Edition … slap on an Apple Watch Edition and queue up some New Edition, and you’ve got a party going. Seriously, though, today we’re checking out the latest customization option to land for Motorola’s 2015 flagship, as the limited-edition designs we saw announced last week finally go up for pre-order.

adler-pure-1Motorola’s working with designer Jonathan Adler for this trio of new Moto X Pure Edition options, each of which gives the phone a unique print that goes above and beyond the regular sort of colorful options shoppers can bestow upon their handsets in the Moto Maker.

Each of the three looks – Bridget, Honeycomb, and Half Circle – come pre-configured with the phone’s 32GB storage option, and are all priced at just about $475 a pop. You can get your pre-orders in today, though it’s worth noting that while Motorola initially mentioned that full-on sales would get started on December 3, all of these limited edition designs are currently reporting that they won’t actually start arriving on doorsteps until December 15.

It’s also important to keep in mind that while the unique bits of these phones are their designer back panels, the hardware itself is a package deal – you’re not free to customize face or accent colors like you would when picking out a regular back panel in Moto Maker. Then again, sometimes too much choice can seem overwhelming, and at least with these options you can rest assured that you’re not going to accidentally put together some overly jarring color combo.

Anyone planning to pick one of these designs up?
