LG announced last month that it would soon roll out the much anticipated Android 12 update for the LG Velvet, and several other devices in 2022. It appears that the time has come, and the company is now rolling out the Android 12 update to the LG Velvet in South Korea.

LG posted a new page on its support site, detailing the Android 12 update guide for users. While the page is written in Korean, we can safely assume that the page includes details about the new features of the new Android update on the smartphone. It includes features such as the microphone and camera indicator on the top-right, new permission windows, and many more.

The Android 12 update brings new Material You design changes, including the wallpaper-based theming engine, new privacy dashboard, new widgets, and many more of LG’s special features. We have also received the update on our LG Velvet with the model number LM-G900N. For those unaware, LG Velvet launched with Android 10, and the company promised that it would continue supporting the device until it receives Android 13, which means that it has about one more year left until it's discontinued officially.

LG also promised updates to the LG Wing, LG Q51, LG Q52, LG Q61, and LG Q92 5G devices, but it offered no explanation in the past on what update or Android version they would be getting, and the new support page doesn’t mention any of these smartphones. As always, updates will vary by region and carriers, and it may take a few days or weeks until the update starts rolling out elsewhere in the world. We would strongly recommend you back up all of your data and have your phone charged up to 60% minimum before updating.
